Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).The event is aimed at drawing attention to climate change and for people to show they support efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Many Canadians will be spending an hour with the lights out tonight as they join people around the world in marking the tenth annual Earth Hour.

To mark the day people are urged to unplug all electronics including lights, TVs and computers from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Six continents, over 170 countries, and 24 time zones will be united as a global community tonight to mark The Earth Hour.
