Homes badly damaged after fire overnight in Mississauga and New Market.

In two separate incidents, fire damaged semi detached homes completely, one in Mississauga on Tuesday early morning  and another in New Market on Monday night.The fire claimed one life in New Market incident.

Mississauga

A Mississauga  semi-detached home was severely damaged after a fire early on Tuesday morning.publive-image

Peel police, Mississauga fire and EMS responded to a working fire on Lundene Road near Winston Churchill Boulevard south of the QEW at around 3:20 a.m.

All the occupants of the home made it out safely. Police and fire services also rescued two dogs from the home.

No injuries were reported but the home has extensive damage.The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it does not appear to be suspicious.

Tottenhum, Newmarket

One person is dead after a fire at a semi-detached home in Tottenham, west of Newmarket. The fire broke out just before midnight on Monday on Park Crescent.

publive-imageOfficials said fire crews rescued a man and a teenage boy from the fire, but a woman was found dead inside the home.

The man and boy were taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

The fire also spread to adjoining homes.

There has been no word on what caused the blaze.
