Martin Singh, a Brampton businessman and former 2015 federal election candidate in Brampton North, today announced his candidacy for Brampton Regional Council Wards 7 and 8 in this year's municipal election. publive-image

Singh also received the endorsement and support of Ward 7 and 8 City Councillor Pat Fortini.

Martin said, "I am excited to announce my candidacy for Brampton Regional Council Wards 7 and 8, and I am deeply honoured and gratified by the support offered to me by Ward 7 and 8 City Councillor Pat Fortini. Brampton is a great city, but it can be even better. We need to address job creation, public transit and the need for an LRT, the university, and timely access to health care services. Pat Fortini is a fantastic Councillor for our community. We've discussed the issues facing Brampton and I think we will make a great team to serve the people of Wards 7 and 8."

Fortini said, "I am thrilled that Martin Singh is putting his name forward for Regional Council in Wards 7 and 8.Martin is a great community leader. He cares about our community and he has the skills and knowledge to help make it even better for everyone. I am delighted to give him my endorsement, and I can't wait for him to join Council."

Singh is an owner of Precision Health Group among other businesses. He is an active volunteer with the Seva Food Bank and the Canadian Sikh Marching Band.

He served for 10 years as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, and is currently an officer in the 557 Lorne Scots Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Brampton. Singh has university degrees in chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering, and a MBA. He lives in Brampton with his wife Deep and three children who attend the Regional Arts Program at Mayfield Secondary School.
