Poll finds Ottawa as Canada’s safest city.




Ottawa, Canada - May 20, 2017: Children play on the new Ottawa sign installed at Inspiration Village, a temporary attraction with special exhibits and performing arts events built to help celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary year. It will be open starting today on York Street in the Byward Market until September 4th.

Canadians believe Ottawa to be Canada’s safest city.

This is the second straight year Ottawa is ranked 1st for perceived safety. The survey notes Canadians believe Ottawa is safe despite the 5% increase in the crime rate last year.

Charlottetown was ranked second, followed by Victoria, Moncton and St. John’s with  Montreal at rank 13   and Toronto at 14. Winnipeg is viewed as Canada’s most unsafe city.
