17 TTC employees tested positive for drugs or alcohol.

TTC says 17 of its employees have tested positive for drugs or alcohol since random testing began in May, including two operators and one manager.

TTC Spokesperson Brad Ross said, "“It is something that is concerning for us in terms of the numbers. It is about 2.5 per cent of those tested.

Ross added that the “vast majority” of the TTC’s employees are reporting for work fit for duty but he said that the random testing is necessary to ensure the safety of the transit system.
