2 Brampton banks robbed at gunpoint this morning

Peel police reported that two banks were robbed in Brampton this morning within 40 minutes.

The first robbery was at 9:20 a.m. at a bank in a Plaza at Cottrelle Boulevard and Highway 50.

Peel police stated a man with a gun walked into the bank and robbed a teller.

Just 40 minutes later and four kilometers away, another bank was robbed at gunpoint at Castlemore Road and McVean Drive.

No shots were fired in either robbery and no one was reported injured, but the robber escaped.

No description of a suspect available from police as yet, and no indication if the same man is responsible for both.
