Arrest Made in Attempt Murder Case and Loaded Firearm Seized
Region of Peel -Officers from 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a Toronto man with Attempt Murder and firearm related offences.
On Sunday, June 4, 2017 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim, a 41 year-old man from Brampton was present in a parking lot in the area of The Gore Road and Ebenezer Road in Brampton for a motorcycle club gathering. An altercation occurred between the victim and another man causing the victim to suffer a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto trauma centre where his injuries were confirmed as life altering.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, Andre Martin, a 34 year-old man from Toronto, was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Lansdowne Avenue and Dundas Street West in the City of Toronto. The search resulted in locating a loaded firearm with ammunition.
Andre Martin was further charged with:
1) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
2) Possession of a Loaded Firearm
3) Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose (X3)
Andre Martin appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, August 29, 2019 for a bail hearing.
