A deadly bus-bike collision left two persons dead at the scene in Bathinda

Two motorbike riders, including a female died on the spot after their vehicle collided head-on with a tour bus near Gurthari village in Bathinda Sunday night. The bus was heading towards Bathinda from Salasar's pilgrimage in Rajasthan.

The deceased have been identified as Pintu and Ravindra residents of Badsara Aima police station Kaptanganj.

After the motorcycle and bus collided, the motorcycle was left stuck in the front of the bus. The bike trailed the bus for almost 100 meters as a result. Both of the young people died on the spot in this tragic accident.

According to Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) J Elanchezian, it appears that the motorcycle's oil tank exploded and caught fire as a result of the impact of the collision.  The fire sparked on the bike spread to the bus.

As soon as they received the information, a team of police and firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control . The bus was destroyed completely in the crash . The bodies of the deceased have been placed in the hospital's mortuary for post-mortem examination by the police.
