Ami Bera, an Indian-American, is appointed for the House Intelligence Committee
Ami Bera, an Indian-American congressman, was chosen to serve on the influential US House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for the 118th Congress on Wednesday.
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the National Security Agency (NSA), and military intelligence operations are all subject to oversight by the Intelligence Committee.

In a news statement, Ami Bera stated that he is "honoured" to have been chosen to join the House Intelligence Committee.
In a statement to the media, Bera said, “I am honored to be appointed by Leader Jeffries to serve on the House Intelligence Committee, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and national security of the United States,” Bera said in the press release."
Bera emphasised that he is prepared to collaborate with committee members in order to make sure that the US intelligence services function well and maintain national security.
Ami Bera, a US congressman, is a member of both the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
He led congressional efforts to strengthen ties with Indo-Pacific allies and partners to advance US economic and security objectives during his tenure as Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Non-proliferation in the 117th Congress.
