Assistance Sought in Homicide Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a vehicle involved in a homicide investigation.

On Monday August 3rd, 2020, at 9:36 pm, police attended 675 Huntington Ridge Drive in the City of Mississauga, in response to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located Abdifatah Salah, a 25-year-old man, suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim was transported to a trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Assistance Sought in Homicide Investigation

Investigators believe that three young offenders are responsible for this homicide. Surveillance video has been obtained, which captures audio of the shooting and the vehicle driven by the shooters that night. The car was last seen on Eglinton Avenue at Hurontario Street, in the City of Mississauga. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this vehicle to contact them.

Police are looking for a four-door, dark coloured vehicle. The suspect vehicle is missing a rear hubcap from the passenger side. If anyone knows of a car that matches this description, please contact investigators.

“This was a senseless act of gun violence which resulted in a life being taken. This type of violence will not be tolerated by our service or our communities. It is a priority for our investigators and they are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and loved ones.” Said Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich.
