
City of Brampton has appointed Bill Boyes as City’s new Fire Chief. Boyes assumes his new role commencing October 10.
Boyes had been Director of Emergency Services/Fire Chief for the City of Barrie since December, 2015. Prior to that, he worked for the Brampton Fire Department for a decade in a variety of positions, including Captain before starting with Barrie as a Deputy Chief and ascending to Chief.
He said in an official statement released by the City of Brampton today, “I am honoured to return to the City of Brampton and Brampton Fire & Emergency Service where I began my fire service career.“Our team will build on the proud history of BFES in order to prepare for the future as a progressive and community-focused public safety leader. All of our branches, including Administration, Apparatus & Maintenance, Communications, Emergency Management, Fire Fighting, Fire & Life Safety, Prevention, and Training contribute to making our community safe and all are committed to achieving public safety excellence. BFES will continue to develop our stakeholder and community partnerships and be focused on delivering the highest quality fire and emergency services possible.”
