
Bollywood playback singer Alka Yagnik who is known for her hit tracks in the 1990s and 2000s becomes the most globally streamed artist on YouTube pulling in a record-breaking 15.3 billion YouTube streams in 2022, with an average of 42 million each day, according to the Guinness World Records.
More surprising is that she left behind well-known international artists like BTS, Blackpink, and Tylor swift. Yagnik has had a career span of more than three decades, and with her deep voice and melodic interpretations of popular Bollywood songs, she has won the hearts of music lovers all around the world.
Alka Yagnik has been the most streamed artist on the platform for the past three years, according to Guinness World Records, with 17.7 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020.
She presently holds the top spot in the 2022 global YouTube rankings, surpassing Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico), who has been rated second after receiving 14.7 billion streams.
She has recorded more than 8000 songs for movies and albums in different Indian languages In addition to receiving numerous honours, including two National Film Awards.
She has sung some of the major Bollywood hits like Ek Do Teen” from the film Tezaab, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Aye Mere Humsafar’, ‘Aisi Deewangi’, and the recent hit “Agar Tum Saath Ho”
