Charges Laid in Double Homicide

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have charged a 52-year-old man in connection with two homicides that occurred in the City of Brampton.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a medical assist call at a residence on Hiberton Crescent in the City of Brampton. Upon arrival, a 12-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy were located deceased within the residence.

The investigation into the circumstances of what transpired within the residence is ongoing by investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau.

This has been determined to be an isolated incident with no threat to the community.

On Thursday, November 7, 2019, the father of the two victims, Edwin BASTIDAS, a 52- year-old man from Brampton has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and will be attending the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing today.
