Census 2016: More than half of Brampton residents among growing immigrant population in Canada.

Census 2016 shows more than half of the people now living in Brampton are among Canada’s growing immigrant population of 7.5 million.

More than 300,000 immigrants, just over half of the Brampton’s population, reportedly call the city home.

According to the census data, about 54 per cent of Brampton residents consider themselves first generation, generally speaking, these people are now or once were immigrants to Canada.

Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal are still the place of residents for more than half of all immigrants.
