Charges Laid in Recent Commercial Robberies

Region of Peel– Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a Brampton man in relation to a series of recent commercial robberies that occurred in the City of Brampton.

Between January 9 and January 11, 2021, there were seven convenience store and gas station robberies that took place in Brampton. There were no physical injuries to any of the victims and various quantities of cash and cigarettes were taken from each location. In one case, the suspect removed the entire cash register. There were no weapons used, however, the suspect made verbal or written demands for money.

On January 12, 2021, members of 22 Division Uniform Patrol located and arrested Dinesh Wilson, a 38 year-old man from Brampton.

The Central Robbery Bureau have charged him with seven counts of Robbery, seven counts of Disguise with Intent, one count of Breach of Probation and one count of Breach of Recognizance stemming from earlier related robbery charges. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
