City of Brampton opens 2018 Community Grant Program application process.

The city of Brampton has opened the application process for municipal funding through the 2018 Community Grant Program. Brampton-based not-for-profit organizations and registered charities who fall under the program’s funding streams are invited to apply.

The priority of the Community Grant Program is to support community activities that focus on celebrating Brampton’s diverse communities while encouraging engagement and connections with an end goal of heightening civic pride.

Funding streams and amounts
Festivals & Sporting Events
· New Festivals – 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $12,500
· Established Festivals – 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $65,000
· Sporting Events – 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $65,000
Arts & Culture Capacity Building
· 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $12,500
Recreation Capacity Building
· 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $12,500
Neighbourhood Initiatives*
· Up to $1,000 in matching funds

New addition in 2018:
2018 will have two intake (application) periods to apply for this funding. The second intake is dependent on remaining available funding following intake period one. Budget-approved annual funds available through this program are $967,300.

Important dates:
November 2017 – application phase one opens
January 15, 2018 – application phase one closes
Late February 2018 – recommendations for funding to Council
March 5, 2018 – application phase two opens (dependent on available funding)
March 30, 2018 – application phase two closes
Late April 2018 – recommendations for funding to Council

The Neighbourhood Initiatives Stream application window opens January 2, 2018. Applications will be reviewed at the end of each month to the end of the calendar year or until all funds have been awarded.
