Chandigarh: Punjab Congress leaders including its chief Amrinder Singh have been orchestrating a sinister campaign following Nabha jail break which is totally unwarranted, absurd and preposterous.

In a statement here today, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal’s advisor Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that already its mastermind Palwinder Singh Pinda and one of the six escapees – Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Mintoo have been arrested .

This is a huge slap on the face of Congress which has been trying to take political leverage by attributing wild and bizarre motives to the incumbent government, he added.

The Akali leader was hugely perturbed over the contemptuous statement of former Punjab Congress legislative Party (CLP) Sunil Jakhar wherein he described the gangsters as “Ladli Fauj”. Sirsa said that the term “ Ladli Fauj” is associated with Guru Gobind Singhji and associating ‘gangsters’ with it is simply outrageous and blasphemous. The Sikh community won’t tolerate such outbursts from Congress politicians who are frustrated being out of power for ten years in Punjab.

Sirsa said that Jakhar should apologize unconditionally immediately for his unwarranted blasphemous outburst which is direct insult to the Community and Sikh Gurus.

Also, taking serious exception to Amarinder’s assertions that the Akalis were setting the stage for large scale violence by letting the terrorist and gangsters loose from jails, Sirsa dubbed it most ludicrous emanating from a sick mind. Moreover, Amarinder’s apprehension this may revive militancy in Punjab is too farfetched. Amarinder should stop contemplating like ISI officers who think that such incidents would trigger wave of militancy. Sooner he stops dreaming the wish list of ISI, better it is for him and the country too.

Sirsa said he would assure Amarinder that neither terrorism would revive nor there would any violence till the reins of government are in hands of Badals. However he expected a better calibrated response from a former chief minister on this incident.

In the race to looking most bizarre and eccentric, the present CLP leader Charanajit Singh Channi was not far behind as he directly blamed Sukhbir Badal and revenue minister Bikram Majithia and demanded intervention of Punjab and Haryana High Court. Lately, Amarinder sought a CBI probe.

Shocked at the eccentricity level of the Congress leaders, Sirsa asserted that Punjab police would dig out the entire conspiracy shortly with arrest of all involved in the crime and intervention from any other quarter is not warranted.

Sirsa conceded that the jail break was result of serious dereliction of duty of the officials and the government have swiftly acted by taking strongest possible action against top officials, beefed up security massive hunt is on in adjoining states too to nab the culprits . And the concerted efforts have already started showing results, he added.
