Cops beating Tyre Nichols to death caught on tape in Memphis

Nichols, a 29-year-old Black male, was hospitalized following his arrest on January 7 and passed away three days later from his injuries

Tyre Nichols was brutally beaten by Memphis police, who held him down and punched him repeatedly while he screamed for his mother and begged to be let return home. Memphis authorities released more than an hour of video of the incident on Friday.

Following a kick to the face, Nichols is pulled by his shoulders. After that, he was forced to sit down. In the footage, Nichols is seen getting smacked in the back with what appears to be a baton. When Nichols is finally lifted to his feet, the officers repeatedly strike him in the face while holding his hands behind his back, causing him to drop to his knees.
