The Provincial Health Officer of British Columbia, Dr. Bonnie Henry, announces first death from new Coronavirus.

Dr. Bonnie Henry said that the man is one of 2 people at a North Vancouver care home who was diagnosed with the virus last week.

The man passed away Sunday night, Henry said.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones and also of course to the staff that provided him care, and to his home at the Lynn Valley Care Centre,” Henry said.

Dr. Henry informed during a press conference that state agencies are using “all resources necessary” to prepare for and respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Health officials in Canada are worried about the novel Coronavirus spreading with the growing number of people being infected with COVID-19.
