Deaths on Heart Lake Road should be dropped by Snow fencing
The City of Brampton has erected snow fencing along Heart Lake Road in a temporary effort to curb the carnage of wildlife being hit by speeding vehicles.
Resident Maureen Harper, who has been advocating for something to be done as she documents the many injuries and deaths to turtles, frogs and other critters, said she was pleasantly surprised when she saw the fencing over the Thanksgiving weekend, but stressed it is only a temporary fix.
She wants to see the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) recommended tunnels and turtle fencing installed between the two ponds that are dissected by the road.
