Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated at Parliament Hill today


Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with other ministers participated in the celebrations.

The festival of Diwali has been celebrated for ages and grows in attraction by the year globally. Apart from the colors and rituals it is  the endless enthusiasm for living that suddenly grips people around this time of the year.

A sight similar to this was witnessed as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau along with other ministers were ethnically dressed to light up diyas (earthen lamps) and candles, along with exchanging greetings and wishes.

Prime Minister Trudeau was dressed up ethnically along with other ministers, epitomizing Diwali in its true sense.


Diwali is a holy tradition, not to be put in the shade by the lights. Deepawali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.
