Gunfire at Salman Khan’s Mansion: Shooter Denies Gangster Ties, Seeks Bail

In a disconcerting incident that has drawn significant attention, two motorcyclists discharged firearms at the residence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in April this year. Following the attack, the assailants abandoned their vehicles and fled the scene. Of the two perpetrators, one, identified as Vicky Gupta, has since sought bail and provided a detailed account of the motive behind the assault.

Vicky Gupta Seeks Bail

Vicky Gupta, one of the individuals involved in the attack on Khan’s residence, has openly acknowledged gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as his inspiration. Gupta has filed for bail, presenting his case to a special court under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). The legal team representing him comprises Amit Mishra, Sunil Mishra, and Pankaj Gildiyal. The court, however, has postponed the bail hearing until August 13, seeking further input from the defense on the matter.

Motivation Behind the Attack

Gupta has attributed his drastic actions to severe financial strain. According to him, mounting debts and financial desperation compelled him to commit the crime. He has argued that the attack was not a random act of violence but rather a desperate measure born out of economic hardship.

Disputed Allegations of Gangster Involvement

The police have implicated the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi in connection with the attack. However, Gupta disputes these allegations, asserting that Bishnoi was not involved in the incident. He contends that Bishnoi’s name has been erroneously associated with the case, thereby misleading the investigation.

Incident Details and Arrest

On the morning of April 14, Gupta and his accomplice Sagar Pal fired several shots at Salman Khan’s residence, with one bullet penetrating the property. Khan, who was asleep at the time, was roused by the sound of gunfire. The two shooters were apprehended in Gujarat a few days following the incident.
