The 15th Melbourne Indian Film Festival (IFFM) recently witnessed a momentous occasion with South Indian superstar Ram Charan being celebrated as the Ambassador of Indian Art and Culture. The festival, renowned for its celebration of Indian cinema and culture, was further illuminated by Ram Charan's significant appearance and the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian tricolor.

A Memorable Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The highlight of the festival was the impressive display of patriotism and cultural pride when Ram Charan elevated the Indian national flag to a crescendo of acclaim. The event drew thousands of spectators, each eager to witness this emblematic moment. Captured in a video shared by IFFM on its official social media platforms, the footage reveals Ram Charan's proud act of raising the Indian flag, which was followed by the rousing rendition of the national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana," by the audience.

His recent film, Rajamouli's "RRR," has made a notable impact on the international stage, grossing over 1000 crores.

Awards and Recognitions at the Festival

The festival also celebrated notable achievements in Indian cinema. Vikrant Massey's film, "12th Fail," was honoured with the Best Film award, while Kartik Aaryan secured the Best Actor award for his performance in "Chandu Champion." Massey further distinguished himself by receiving the Critics' Choice Best Performer award. Kiran Rao's "Missing Ladies" was recognised with the Best Film Critics' Choice award. The 15th Melbourne Indian Film Festival, continuing from August 15 to August 25, promises to uphold its tradition of celebrating the finest in Indian cinema.
