Girl rescued from Brampton House Fire

Girl rescued from Brampton House Fire,
is in ‘serious but stable’ condition.

Zoya Kapadia, a 9 year old young girl is in “serious but stable” condition with third-degree burns after an overnight fire tore through a family home in Brampton killing her parents and older sister.

She was rescued by a 19-year-old man staying in the home’s basement. He said he ran upstairs to try to help, and ended up rescuing the girl.

Police said Zoya was taken to the Hospital for Sick Children with severe burns and smoke inhalation.
Const. Harinder Sohi, of Peel police said, “She is in serious but stable condition. She’s alert and conscious.”

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
