The High Commission of India in Ottawa has introduced Walk-in applications which will be available starting on Wednesday for travel-related papers to India. The service was restricted for almost three years as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic

India’s high commission in Canada said on Tuesday that the facility is available from February 1 at the centers operated by BLS, the firm that has been contracted for this purpose.

“All applicants seeking Visa, OCI, Passport and other consular services can use the walk-in mode to submit their applications and supporting documents with BLS centers, without prior appointment.” The release read

Furthermore, Walk-in services are being introduced in addition to the appointment and postal modes, which would continue to remain available. Depending upon the resources available at each center and total number of daily appointments already booked, only a limited number of such walk-in applicants will be served every working day from 8.00 AM to 1.00 PM.

In BC these centres are located in Surrey and Vancouver.

“Those who have already booked appointments for submission of their applications and would, now, like to use the walk-in facility are requested to vacate/cancel their appointment slots, once their applications are accepted so that the same becomes available to others seeking consular services.” Release from the High Commission stated.
