Indian women’s hockey team wins an outstanding 7-0 against South Africa

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team, after a brilliant performance in their opening match on Monday, defeated South Africa 7-0 in their second match of the South Africa Tour today in Cape Town.

They have been in outstanding form in this competition, focusing on their recent triumph at the FIH Women’s Nations Cup. With a 5-1 victory to start the season, they continued with the same focus on Tuesday, starting with a superb goal by Udita in the ninth minute.

In the second quarter, the group captained by goalkeeper Savita increased the pressure on South Africa by putting together some effective offensive combinations.

India’s second goal was scored in the 22nd minute by Vaishnavi Vithal Phalke, who made her international debut for the Senior Women’s team on Monday in their opening game.

After nearly six months since her last game, when she played in the FIH Hockey Pro League in 2022, experienced forward Rani made her comeback with a spectacular field goal. She had also scored the game’s opening goal for India. By the end of the second quarter, India had a 6-0 advantage over the other team.

In the 25th, 26th, and 27th minutes of the game, Sangita Kumari, Navneet Kaur, and Vandana Katariya all scored goals. India was in a raging mood, leaving South Africa’s defense lacking.

Despite no goals being scored in the third quarter, India ended the game with Vandana scoring her second goal of the game in the 58th minute.
