Industrial waste blamed for colourful dogs:Mumbai

The group of strangely coloured dogs are seen on Mumbai roads.

The blue colored dogs were first spotted on 11 August prompting locals to complain to the local pollution control board about dyes being dumped in the Kasadi river, where the animals often swim.

The complaint prompted Mumbai authorities to shut down a manufacturing company after it was accused of dumping untreated industrial waste and dyes into a local river that resulted dogs turning blue.

The canines were turning blue due to air and water pollution linked to the plant.
