Invictus Games set to start in Toronto this weekend

Invictus Games  will officially kick off this weekend.

The Invictus Games is an international Paralympic-style multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry of the Commonwealth Realms, in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing.

Prince Harry and more than 550 competitors from 17 nations will be in Toronto over the next week as the Invictus Games take place.

Invictus games  being held for a third time, are scheduled for venues across the city from Sept. 23 to Sept. 30, resulting in numerous road closures that could make getting around the city difficult.

Police are advising members of the public attending Invictus Games events to consider using public transit.Numerous road closures are planned due to Invictus Games in Toronto.
