Man shot at home in Brampton; suspected woman detained
In a shocking incident, a man suffered serious injuries after he was shot in Brampton on early Sunday morning. Reportedly, the man suffered serious injuries but is said to be stable.
According to Peel Regional Police, they received a call about a shooting at a home on Baronwood Court, in the Williams Parkway and Centre Street North area, at around 3:44 am.
The police arrived at the spot and found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately taken to a trauma centre where he remained in serious but stable condition.
Meanwhile, Peel Regional Police said that they have detained a woman at the scene and a firearm was also seized from the spot.
The police also said that an adult child of the victim was present in the home when the incident took place.
They further clarified that there was no ongoing threat to public safety. The case is now in the hands of the Intimate Partner Violence Bureau, they added.
