Minister Navdeep Bains and Federal NDP Leader compete in Dance off at Seva Spark 2018

Seva Spark 2018, an event was organized Brampton to raise money for the Seva Food Bank that helps feed over 200,000 needy people in the Peel region of Canada.

Since 2010, the Seva Food Bank provides safe, nutritious and culturally-appropriate food to low-income families living in seven postal codes across Mississauga. We also coordinate a wide range of programs that help our clients address the causes and consequences of hunger and poverty.

The event successfully attracted political leaders to help raise money in a non-partisan way.

Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and Minister Navdeep Bains attended the event and attracted audiences with dance Off.

The event targeted to raise $50,000  but could raise $40,000.

This is when things got interesting when the two opposing party leaders said they would do a dance off if they managed to raise $50,000.

And guess what?……Donations quickly poured in causing the target to be met.

Then went Minister Navdeep Bains

The event was held on May 25th evening. An initiative of Sikhs Serving Canada, a registered not-for-profit charitable organization, their aim is to positively impact local communities by acting on the basic Sikh tenets of sarbat da bhalla (the wellbeing of all), chardi kala (eternal optimism) and seva (selfless service).
