NDP Candidate Gurratan Sing bagged Brampton East seat with 17,606 votes. Gurratan Singh, a lawyer, emphasized a commitment to “justice and equity.”
Brampton North: Former weather network personality Kevin Yarde earned the Brampton North Seat beating PC Candidate Ripudaman Dhillon and Liberal’s Harinder Malhi.“I just want to say to the people of Brampton North, to those of you who voted for me and those of you who didn’t vote for me, I’m going to be a strong advocate for you at Queen’s Park,” Yarde told an enthusiastic crowd of supporters at the Bombay Palace Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Brampton after the final tally was announced.
NDP’s Sara Singh rose in Brampton centre beating PC’s rival by 89 votes.She has become the first female New Democratic Party candidate elected in the 905-area, capturing the riding of Brampton Centre.
The clear winner of Brampton South is PC candidate Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria.“This is more than just a win for me, it’s a movement that we’ve created,” said Sarkaria, a corporate and commercial Associate at Miller Thomson LLP. He added, “As a city, we’ve been left behind for so long, and it’s time we’ve got a government that will give Brampton what it deserves.”
PC Candidate Amarjot Sandhu won the Brampton west seat with 39.4 % of votes putting Liberal’s Vic Dhillon’s five-term reign in Brampton West to an end. PC candidate Amarjot Sandhu.
