
A 21-year-old Brampton man, Paviter Singh Bassi beaten with sticks Monday evening (March 19) has died, Peel Regional Police report.The beating took place in the neighbourhood of Sandalwood Parkway and Cedarcliff Trail, near Sandalwood Heights Secondary School, just before 6 p.m. on March 19.
Paviter Singh Bassi died in hospital Tuesday morning after he was brutally beaten in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Cedarclif Trail, on the grounds of Sandalwood Heights Secondary School, according to Peel police.
The men responsible, described only as “multiple suspects” have still not been identified and are the subject of an intense police investigation.
Police said the victim was viciously beaten and suffered severe head injuries in the daylight attack at 6 p.m. in the area of
Witnesses to the attack called police, but the suspects fled in a vehicle before officers arrived.
The victim was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre where he died of his injuries Tuesday.
The Homicide Bureau is now investigating his death as a homicide.
It’s Peel’s seventh murder of the year.
The weapons used to beat the victim, identified only as sticks, were not recovered.
