Peel police officer is charged with a criminal offence in connection with an incident from January that involved a robbery

Following a thorough investigation, the Peel Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau has charged an officer with robbery in connection with an off-duty incident that took place in the vicinity of Queen Mary Drive and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton on January 29, 2022.

Constable Sukhdev Sangha, a two-year employee who has been charged with one count of robbery, was suspended with pay in accordance with the requirements of the Ontario Police Services Act.

On December 12, 2022, Constable Sangha is expected to make a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Additionally, one count of robbery was earlier filed against Mr. Karanveer Sangha of Brampton, Mr. Sukhdeep Kandola of Brampton, and Ms. Jasmeen Bassi of Markham in connection with the same event. These accusations are presently being heard in court.
