Police investigating robbery at BMO branch, Brampton and CIBC , Hamilton

Peel police continue to investigate following a robbery at the Bank of Montreal branch at Castlemore and Airport Road in Brampton Friday,Jan 12th  evening.

According to police, a male suspect wearing dark clothing with their face covered entered the bank at approximately 6:30 p.m of Friday (Jan. 12.) brandishing a gun.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot. No one was injured in the incident.

According to media officer, Constable Bancroft Wright, tactical and K9 units responded to the scene in the immediate aftermath of the robbery, but the case has now been turned over to the central robbery unit.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-10 with a slim build, and as indicated above was wearing dark clothing and covered his face.

In a another incident of Robbery in Hamilton, Police are looking for a suspect they say robbed a CIBC branch on Wilson Street West in Ancaster on Wednesday.

The robbery happened around 2:30 p.m. A man came into the bank and showed a note to a bank teller, demanding money. He took some money – the amount of which police are not disclosing – from the bank teller’s till and left, police said.

Police hope anyone with information will get in touch with them or Crime Stoppers.
