Peel Regional Police report that a loaded .22 calibre handgun and some ammunition were seized in an early-morning raid on a Brampton home on Thursday.
Peel’s 22 Division Criminal Investigations Unit executed a search warrant Jan. 4 at a home in the area of Willerton Close and Velonia Drive, near Bovaird Drive and Kennedy Road.
A man and woman were arrested and the weapon seized.
Nazzareno Joseph Ellul, 35, and Shauna Pettitt, 38, both of Brampton, are charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Ellul has also been charged with breach of recognizance.
