Police urging drivers, shoppers to avoid area as one more shooting case surfaced

Crime on Rise:Police respond to shooting near Brampton plaza

Peel Regional Police are urging drivers and shoppers to stay away from an area after reports of a shooting near a Brampton plaza today evening.

Heavily-armed officers and police dogs have responded near Country Trails Plaza, at the corner of Countryside Drive and Airport Road, after a shooting was reported in the area just before 6:15 p.m.

The Police force tweeted, “Avoid the area for police investigation."

#PRP responding to the area of Airport Rd/Countryside Dr in #Brampton for a shooting. No further details at this time. Please avoid area for police investigation. Call received at 6:11 p.m.

Peel Region Paramedics say there is a possible victim with a gunshot wound.
