Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have charged a 16-year-old male youth in relation to a homicide investigation.
On Thursday, August 13, 2020, emergency services received a call for a medical assist for an unconscious man located on a pathway in the area of Queen Mary Drive and Heathwood Drive in the City of Brampton. When officers arrived on scene a man was located showing obvious signs of trauma and was transported to a local hospital with vital signs absent.
The victim in this incident is 22-year-old man from Brampton. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.
On Thursday, August 13, 2020, a 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. He will attend bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday, August 14, 2020.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
