Second robbery at same Brampton Gas Station reported

For the second time in less than a week, the same Brampton gas station,Esso at one of the city’s busiest intersections of Steeles and Airport Road has been robbed.

The latest heist at the Esso gas station at the corner of Steeles Avenue East and Airport Road occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.The same gas station was robbed on Jan 2 when three of the males burst into the store and took cash from the till, leaving the two people inside frightened but uninjured.publive-image

Peel Const. Bally Saini said the robber was armed with a gun when he burst into the store and made a demand for cash.

Saini said, “A rifle was seen."

The 33-year-old Brampton woman working inside was left traumatized but uninjured.

The gunman fled the scene with an unknown amount of money in an awaiting getaway vehicle driven by another man.

The white vehicle was last seen going eastbound on Steeles Avenue East.

Police don’t believe the latest robbery is connected to a robbery at the same gas station on Jan. 2, in which four suspects burst into the gas station and took money from the till.
