Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Greater Toronto Area advising that a Colorado low could dump five to ten cm of snow across the region and much of southern Ontario between Monday night.

Environment Canada said in its statement,"There may be a significant impact to the Tuesday morning commute and possibly the afternoon one as well for regions where the change to rain occurs later."

The temperatures are expected to hover above the freezing mark from Tuesday to Wednesday, with a chance of rain or snow throughout much of the week.

The deep freeze is expected to return on Friday, with a low of -14 C.
