Member of Parliament for Brampton South, Sonia Sidhu on Wednesday rose in the House to ask Hon. Minister Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, an update for the concerned constituents regarding Afghan Sikhs and Hindus that are facing specific risks of persecution and violence, along with the Government of Canada’s plan to support religious freedoms at home and abroad
“It was my privilege to rise in the house,” she said.
“Support of religious freedoms both at home and abroad is a priority for our government. Canada will continue to be an outspoken advocate for human rights and call on Afghanistan to abide by international standards and protect religious minorities,” she added.
