For the first time ever, the national games are being held in Gujarat

The 36th National Games will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on Thursday during an exquisite Opening Ceremony that will take place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

Athletes competing in the National Games from all over the nation will hear the prime minister address as well. The inaugural ceremony will also be attended by dignitaries like the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur.

For the first time ever, the national games are being held in Gujarat. It will take place from September 29 to October 12, 2022. The largest National Games ever will feature 36 sports categories and nearly 15,000 athletes, coaches, and officials from around the nation.

Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar are the six cities where the sporting activities will take place. Gujarat began the road to build a strong sports infrastructure of world standards under the guidance of the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which assisted the state to get ready for the games in a remarkably short amount of time.
