Thousands to participate in SAD-BJP dharnas on 12th

Chandigarh, June 10 : The Shiromani Akali Dal and Bhartiya Janta Party combine has completed preparations for district level dharnas on June 12th on five issues and the SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal will lead dharna in Ludhiana. These dharnas will be attended by thousands of leaders and workers of the combine besides the common citizens. This was disclosed by the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema here today.

In a statement released here, Dr. Cheema said disclosed that besides senior leadership of the both the parties,the SAD core committee members, Member Parliament, MLAs, SGPC members, office bearers of the party and all the district level  leaders and members and elected representatives of the local  bodies will participate in these dharnas.

Dr. Cheema said that the objective of these dharnas is to get resolved the burning issues confronting the state and awake the deaf and dump government about the problems of the people. He said that issues being taken at these dharnas will include big scandal of mining in which Punjab cabinet minister Rana Gurjit Singh and several of ruling party MLAs have been found indulged directly and allotment of mining sites to the sole bidders, the government’s apathy towards problems of the farmers and its betrayal on the issue of farm loan waiver, failure of the government to control incidents of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib ji and failure of the government in governing the state. He said that besides these the atrocities being committed with the dalit community and deteriorating law and order situation in the state will also be highlighted in these dharnas.

Dr Cheema said that both the parties have issued instructions to make these dharna successful and meetings are also being held for the same. He said that after the dharnas leaders of both the parties will meet respective Deputy Commissioners and submit a memorandum. He said that dharnas will be completely peaceful.

He further disclosed that after the completion of dharna program, a high level delegation of both the parties including core committee memembers, Member Parliament and MLAs will meet Punjab Governor on June 13th and demand dismissal of Rana Gurjit Singh from Cabinet and also demand inquiry from CBI, ED and Income Tax authorities.
