Tory says as the “economic powerhouse” of ON, Toronto “needs investment right now.”

Mayor John Tory says he has made it clear to the province’s finance minister, Charles Sousa that the upcoming provincial budget “has to help Toronto” address its growing transit and housing needs.

Sousa responded that his government will continue to try to work with the mayor and city council to address some of Toronto’s pressing needs.

Tory said that he plans on sitting down with leaders of all provincial political parties and “canvass them for their ideas and their commitments to the future wellbeing of the city of Toronto,” ahead of the next provincial election.
