
PM Justin Trudeau announced the appointment of retired general Andrew Leslie, Member of Parliament for Orléans, to the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs today.
Andrew Leslie will assume special responsibilities for the Canada-U.S. relationship and play a critical role in building ties with the new U.S. administration in the new role assigned and will take up his responsibilities as Parliamentary Secretary on January 30, 2017.
Trudeau says Leslie will play a critical role in building ties with the new U.S. administration, which includes a number of prominent retired generals.
