A week after reaching out to the public to determine the whereabouts of two men wanted in a kidnapping, police say the Uppal brothers have turned themselves in.
Pavandeep Uppal, 22, and Jasondeep Uppal, 19, were being sought in connection with an alleged kidnapping in which the victim was confined, violently assaulted, then released, suffering injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
On March 22 police appealed to the public for information regarding the whereabouts of the Uppals, warning anyone who recognized them to call police rather than approaching.
But the search is over, as both men turned themselves in at Surrey provincial court Monday, police said. The pair was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
The Uppal brothers are charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping, assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. Jasondeep Uppal is also charged with one count of robbery.
