Veteran actor Arun Bali passes away at 79 in Mumbai, was battling a rare neuromuscular disease

Veteran actor Arun Bali died on Friday morning at his residence in suburban Mumbai at the age 79.

Bali’s son Ankush said he was not keeping well. He was suffering from a rare neuromuscular disease myasthenia gravis. The actor was also admitted to the Hirnandani Hospital in Mumbai earlier this year.

He is popular for his best work in films including famous character Shyamaldas Chanchad   he played in 3 idiots, Kedarnath, Panipat, Hey Ram, Dand Nayak, Ready, Zameen, Policewala Gunda, Phool Aur Angaar, and Ram Jaane.

He was born into a Muhiyal (Brahmin) family from Punjab. He rose to fame in the 2000s for playing "grandfatherly" characters, such as Harshvardhan Wadhwa in TV serials like Kumkum.

He was also a National Award-winning producer.

He recently seen in the film Laal Singh Chaddha and goodbye released on Friday, 7 October
