Violent brawl inside Mall creates panic.

Peel Regional Police have one person in custody after a “brawl” involving a gun broke out inside Bramalea City Centre in Brampton Wednesday evening that sent shoppers running for cover.

Investigators have also seized a BB gun.

The fight at the popular mall on Peel Centre Drive broke out just before 6 p.m. on the main level and involved as many as five people, some of whom received minor injuries such as cuts and bruises.

Witnesses reported it happened near Mo’s Golden Pretzel, not far from the area where Santa Claus meets young children and poses for photos with families.

Const. Lori Murphy said as a result of the “brawl,” some property inside the mall was damaged, but no shots were fired.

“There were a lot of people in there,” she said, noting that it’s that time of year for Christmas shopping and the mall was busier than usual.

Shoppers reported on social media they were running from the mall once the fight broke out. Some went to their cars while others scurried outside.

Lisa Lombardi, one of shoppers said, “There was a gun that was apparently pulled out.We got the hell out of there.”

Police dogs also responded to the mall in search of clues.
