Vaishno Devi Pilgrim Dies Due To Cardiac Arrest

Jammu: A Vaishno Devi bound pilgrim died allegedly due to cardiac arrest in the Katra town of Reasi district, police said today.

Abhisek Nargotra (21), a resident of Udhampur in Jammu, along with his friends was on his way to the holy cave shrine when he fell unconscious near the shrine late last night, a police officer said.

Nargotra was shifted to the nearby dispensary where doctors declared him brought dead and termed cardiac arrest as the apparent cause of the death, the officer said.

The body has been shifted to the community health centre (CHC) Katra for postmortem after which it would be handed over to the relatives for last rites, he said.
